Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our growing HR shared services team as a Workplace Investigator (Employee Relations Specialist). In this role, you will play a vital role in supporting a positive work environment by conducting confidential investigations into employee concerns, complaints, and potential policy violations. The position is responsible for Managing the regional ER service-delivery model and will undertake workplace investigations, performance management, mediation, and employee relations consulting within the region, in line with the corporate ER policy guidelines. You will also assist with a variety of employee relations activities, ensuring a smooth and professional experience for our staff.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Manage Employee Relations within the region, including workplace investigations, performance management and mediation.

  • Deliver employee relations consulting across manager & employee concerns, grievances and disputes.

  • Conduct confidential investigations into employee concerns, complaints, and potential policy violations, following established procedures.

  • Prepare comprehensive and objective reports summarizing findings and recommendations.

  • Promote and support referrals to the Employee Assistance Program (EAP).

  • Deliver workforce ranking and reduction in force processes as initiated by Function and/or Regional Management

  • Assist with the development and implementation of corrective action plans and disciplinary processes, in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.

  • Provide counsel to projects on maintaining harmonious employee relations through clear and concise communication of employee relations programs.

  • Provide support and guidance to employees throughout the investigative and resolution processes.

  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of all investigations and employee relations activities.

  • Perform other duties as required by the R&C / ER Manager.

  • Stay up to date on relevant employment laws and regulations.

  • Recommend and implement changes to ER policies, procedures and strategy through monitoring relevant legislative changes within the region.

  • Facilitation of training programs for new or revised ER policies or programs and evaluate the effectiveness of implementation.

  • Manage regional support in relation to tribunal hearings, claims and legal matters pertaining to employee relations.

  • Assess and make recommendations on Client specific requirements and/or initiatives that affect employee relations within the region.

  • Manage Integrity Ethics Hotline investigations within the region.

  • Advice on Adverse Action and Equal Employment Opportunity requirements, including affirmative action plans and involuntary/voluntary assessments within the region.

  • Deliver ER support to Project HR ensuring consistency and compliance of regional ER activities.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Level I: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, plus 5 years HR experience, OR in lieu of degree 9 years of experience.

  • Level II: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, plus 6 years HR experience, OR in lieu of degree 12 years of experience.

  • Demonstrated experience conducting research, investigating alternatives and recommending solutions on areas affecting employee relations

  • Experience managing employee relations cases, including those escalated to external bodies.

  • Extensive knowledge of regional employment legislation and compliance requirements.

  • Demonstrated experience in multiple HR disciples including policy development, employment compliance, employee relations and project delivery.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Previous experience working within a large matrix organization

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with employees at all levels.

  • Impeccable attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Ability to travel and work as per customer time zones as required.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong delivery focus and proven ability to exercise a high degree of individual initiative and judgment.

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, whilst managing changing priorities & deadlines with multiple stakeholders.

  • Detail-oriented, organized, flexible and able to work across multiple work fronts is essential.

  • Proven experience in conducting workplace investigations and preparing investigation reports.

  • Intermediate skill in MS office suite producing business-level reports, presentations, and recommendations.

  • Adaptability to cover multiple countries employee relation activities
