Description

We are in search of a committed and proactive Paralegal/Legal Assistant to join our team in Hartford, Connecticut. This role is pivotal within our litigation law firm, focusing on areas such as personal injury, workers compensation, and other civil litigation. As a Legal Assistant, you will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities, including the management of case files, administration of claims, and handling of complaints.

Responsibilities:

• Utilize Adobe Acrobat, Case Management Software, and LexisNexis for efficient case management and document handling

• Manage Microsoft Office/ Excel for various administrative tasks

• Oversee billing functions to ensure accurate invoicing and payment processing

• Draft and prepare legal briefs for attorneys

• Manage calendars to ensure timely completion of tasks and meeting deadlines

• Administer claims and handle complaints to ensure client satisfaction

• Specialize in civil litigation proceedings to provide comprehensive legal support

• Apply knowledge of personal injury law and personal injury litigation in case preparation and proceedings

• Handle various administrative duties such as filing, typing, copying, binding, scanning, etc.

• Work with attorneys to develop legal arguments, motions, and other case filings.

Requirements

Requirements:

-1 year of Paralegal/Legal Assistant experience

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office

• Experience with Case Management Software for efficient handling of legal cases.

• Familiarity with LexisNexis for legal research and case law referencing.

• Experience in drafting Briefing documents to summarize case details & Claim Administration

• Proficiency in Calendar Management to schedule meetings, deadlines, and court appearances.

• Strong skills in Complaint Handling, resolving client issues and concerns.

• Background in Civil Litigation/Personal Injury is a Plus
