Amazon Senior Product Manager, Inbound Transportation in Bellevue, Washington

Description

AIT BizOps is looking for a Senior Product Manager who will own the roadmap for products and programs that reduce inbound costs. You will create and maintain a single source of truth for inbound cost estimates that can be used for sourcing, buying, and capacity decisions across Direct Imports vs. Domestic. Ultimately, this will help manage the flow of goods within the Amazon network. The Senior Product Manager will also identify new use cases to understand where inbound cost is necessary for optimal supply chain decisions and explore opportunities to reduce cost in transfer and import operations. Having this capability will enable us to better manage the inbound network based on the most recent transportation cost analysis. You will help integrate Amazon Sourcing with Amazon Transportation systems to minimize waste in the supply chain. To achieve this, you will collaborate with Retail, Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP), and Supply Chain Optimization Technology (SCOT).

We are seeking a candidate who is operationally savvy, technically strong, customer-centric, and has a penchant for thinking big. Excellent communication skills and comfort with cross-functional collaboration are a must. The candidate should be able to envision a product's future while delivering results incrementally. Analyzing data to develop business cases, prioritize features, and understand the impact of product launches should come naturally to the candidate.

Key job responsibilities

Key principles for success in this role:

  • Delivery is at the heart of this role. You should thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment without being hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. This means being willing to roll up your sleeves, delve deep, and get the job done.

  • You will be responsible for gathering business and system requirements from internal customers and external stakeholders, writing specifications, driving project schedules from design to release, and overseeing production launches.

  • Defining the product vision and creating initiatives and roadmaps to achieve that vision will be part of your role. You will harmonize conflicting inputs from customers and create requirements that genuinely address their needs.

  • As a technical problem solver on the team, you should anticipate bottlenecks and escalations and propose innovative solutions. Your approach should constantly strive for simplicity while demonstrating significant creativity, innovation, and judgement.

  • Most importantly, you will take products from the idea stage all the way to launch.

A day in the life

On a typical day, you will focus on delighting customers with low inbound costs, work consistently with tech partners to develop technical capabilities, define and prioritize the roadmap, and create go-to-market strategies. You will closely collaborate with a team of Amazon software engineers, research scientists, data scientists, and user experience designers to develop new products and features. You will be surrounded by incredibly smart individuals who are passionate about scaling solutions to transport billions of items each year on time. They believe that we have only just begun to tap into our potential in assisting customers worldwide.
