Amentum has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Systems Engineer to join their team in Alice Springs, NT - Australia.

THE ROLE
The Systems Engineer is a key member of the Engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for the independent selection, evaluation, and application of relevant engineering knowledge, techniques and procedures in support of the safe and effective operation, maintenance and management of facility assets, infrastructure and systems at OASIS.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities/Duties
Conduct the technical evaluation of operational systems, equipment, and infrastructure in support of general and targeted optimization and improvement initiatives.
Apply technical knowledge of engineering principles and best practices to determine equipment malfunctions, perform root-cause analysis, and apply skills to support the resilience of mission-critical operations at the system and sub-system levels.
Support the development design and construction project requirements, including programming, scheduling, costs, and risks/constraints.
Technically support the operation, maintenance, and repair of electromechanical systems and components for critical power and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning infrastructure
Utilize sound technical writing to document equipment failures, prepare status reports, and assist in developing concepts of operations (CONOPs) and improvements to the operations of site electromechanical systems.
Provide technical guidance to programmatic processes for future enhancements and system upgrades.
Conduct periodic and yearly technical performance reviews/assessments of mechanical engineering team members in coordination with the Engineering Supervisor.
Ensure technical compliance with industry standards, regulations, and corporate policies.
Ensure compliance with all site's environmental health and safety requirements.
Perform any other reasonable duties as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Essential
Undergraduate Degree
Field: Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline
Desirable
Post-Graduate Degree
Field: Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline
CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENCES
Desirable
- Professional Engineer (PE (US) or Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) (AUS) license/certification.
EXPERIENCE – Minimum Essential
- 5-7 years of relevant engineering and/or experience
EXPERIENCE – Desired
- 5 or more years of relevant engineering experience in defense industry, design engineering, manufacturing, construction, and/or technology
SKILLS
Communications: Ability to smoothly and succinctly communicate requirements to corporate/customer stakeholders
Problem-solving: Ability to efficiently deduce solutions to complex problems/issues in a time-constrained environment
Teamwork: Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary associates at a corporate and customer level
STATEMENT OF WORK REQUIREMENTS
At least 18 years of age.
Able to fluently read, write and speak English
Australian or US citizen
